The Highlander
Welcome
Springtime
Hello Neighbors in Arapahoe Highlands,
From all indications, we are about to let out a collective sigh after a year of craziness. Yes, the medical folks caution us to wear masks, wash our hands and be careful with folks you do not know to “social distance.” Yes, some days it seems like there are lots of pros and cons. Seems like the best advice is to be conservative in exposing yourself to folks outside your close family and friends. All of that said, be safe. (Get your shots if your doctor directs you to do such) Back at the ranch, your board has been working to improve our ability to communicate. First, let me introduce our new neighbor and newest board member Megan Johnson (Dustin is her husband). Megan is an experienced Communications Director and prior to moving here worked in a corporate position doing just that. Recently Megan, a new mom, reached out and offered her service to us, her neighbors, and volunteered to help! May I suggest that you take the time to look at our newly redesigned AHCA website.
Now that you have seen the website, know that it is a work in process and we will be rolling out news updates, notices of meetings, minutes, and events to name a few. We are working to put our directory online with password-protected sign-ins and other helpful features to help us communicate in our neighborhood. When I say “we” I mostly mean MEGAN. We have ideas and she makes it happen!
If you would like to do so now, you are welcome to create a user account on our new website. In the coming days, we will be sending a separate email with more detailed instructions on how to create an account and the various functions of our new website. We hope all of our neighbors will make use of this.
For those of us who are technically challenged, we will do everything we can to accommodate you. We will be using a dual system of membership enrollment this year. We are in the process of planning some neighborhood events and will notify you as it proceeds and as guidance for in-person gatherings relaxes. We for now are meeting by zoom, thanks to Alex.
Some of the things we are working towards are a neighborhood picnic, a food truck visit, dumpster days, and a Fourth of July parade and cookout. Stay tuned.
Please be aware we have had some neighbors pass away and their notices are attached below. Thanks to all who helped out each other with the recent snows. Thanks to Candace Moon for seeing the big plow visited us. Thanks to you all for being great neighbors! Thanks to an incredible board and we look forward to a great year!
